Southern 'E' Media-Zimbabwe Gallery / Matopos Philip Weiss, Mandla Sibanda 3/2/01 Matopos National Park is only forty kms from Bulawayo. It was a major centre of settlement as water was available all year round in the rocky terrain. The local people were secure. There are many caves with early rock paintings. Some of the hills are sacred and the people used to worship one god, Mwari or Mngwali before the missionaries introduced the bible. |
