I awoke from the heat, a fire still burning in my stomach. My eyes open,
stinging from my sweat, staring at the shadow filled ceiling.
You were always there for me.
You rose gently, silently, from your sleep making no sound, and wrap your arms
around me, comforting. The fire slowly died and my gasping breath slowed. I
shiver from a sudden chill and bury myself deeper into you.
I long to hear your heartbeat.
I turned to look at your eyes, for they are the greatest comfort. I love your
eyes.
I loved your eyes.
