The Putney student travel group of Putney, Vermont, will miss you.

April 5, 1932 - February 22, 2002

" The passing of Buggs Evans, 69, into the spirit world, was another great loss to the Blackfeet culture. His knowledge of the traditional language and stories from the days of the dog soldiers and horse raiders of the plains, will be missed at the retelling. He always kept his home open to all travelers from all around the world. These friends he made from the 4 winds / directions will miss him.

During the sundance season he worked quietly behind the scenes to help keep our culture alive. Every sundancer owes him a hearty thank you."

P.S. Sherman Alexie wrote about the subject of forgiving our fathers for whatever shortcomings they may have had to us. Reconciliation takes time and perhaps, it happens in our life time and what legacy we leave our children.

These are but a few of the friends from hundreds around the rez and the world who will miss your storytelling and hospitality.

"Friends come in all colors" from a bumper sticker on Bugg's truck.

Ton fils SkyHawk
