You walk through the door and find yourself on a sandy beach. Behind you is a small shack, apparently made of dritfwood, far smaller than the room you just exited. Puzzling, you make your way along the shore.
After a few minutes you come to a low cliff overlooking the ocean. Strangely, a date tree seems to be growing right out of the rock! Unusual as that is, you're just about to move on when you see what looks like a horse swimming below you!

You look closer, and see it has the tail of a fish, and seems to be female. She whinnies in such a way you understand she is saying, "Hello, traveler! Welcome to my beach!" She dives below the surface and comes back up a moment later. "I'm Kalian, a capriquine from Shimyrst Beach! She giggles and splashes you with her tail, then swims in circles. "Don't you love the fruit tree? Somebody-or-Other planted it for me, and the fruit falls into the water so I can eat it!" She leaps out of the water, twirls once, and swims away, giggling.

Another capriquine swims over, somewhat more calmly. She nods to you and says, "Greetings. I am Jaolyn." The bells around her neck jingle slightly. "I see you have met Kalian." Suddenly she splutters and sinks into the water, a moment before Kalian surfaces, grinning.
"She would have just stared at you funny, anyway," she says, still grinning. "I'd best be going! Farewell!" She swims away, with a wave of her tail.
Jaolyn surfaces and sneezes delicately, then follows Kalian. "Farewell," she calls.
On your way back, you see a wooden sign:

Before you leave, you see glowing letters inscribed in the sand:
