My Part of God's Country
"Howdy! I'm Aaron..."
I live in southeastern North Carolina where the
"whitetail" roam. Although not the only hobby I enjoy,
it is certainly one of my favorites. There's no describing the
peace of quietly sitting in a trees stand observing the show
nature can put on for you.
Then, when you least expect it, you hear a
distant rustle that can only mean a deer is coming your way.
Adrenalin pumps excitement into every fiber of your body. You
struggle with yourself to remain calm. Peering thought the scope
of your lifted rifle, you scan the woods until the animal appears
in your crosshairs. The rack is definitely there. It's a buck!
Taking a deep breath and holding it, you
squeeze off the one perfect shot! Man, there's nothing like it!
