William Bligh, the sadist of the Bounty mutiny,
visited Occussi-Ambeno after a long boat trip.

13th June, 1989.
200th Anniversary of Mutiny on the "Bounty".

10 30¢ Turquoise View stamp
11 45¢ Red View stamp

This set commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Mutiny on the HMS "Bounty", when the tyrannical captain, William Bligh, was deposed from his sadistic career, and cast adrift in the small cutter from the ship, along with some cronies. Bligh and gang eventually arrived at Timor, where they visited Occussi-Ambeno, possibly the earliest Europeans to do so. The stamps were designed by Keith Kissell, and printed by the Imperial Occussi-Ambeno Government Printing Office (KDPN) on invisibly-gummed paper. All the stamps are perf 12.
