The Scenic High Falls - version 1
This is the first, and original version of this poem. I wrote this poem in grade 7. We had to write a poem about our favourite place in nature. The past summer we had gone up to Wawa, Ontario, and had stopped to see the Scenic High Falls. I remembered the falls and wrote my poem on them.
This poem is dedicated to The Scenic High Falls and Wawa.
As you drive along the quiet, peaceful, northern roads of Canada,
You just can`t help but notice the beautiful waterfall,
“The Scenic High Falls.”
Beautiful lacy water, falling peacefully and relaxing,
Until it reaches the bottom,
Where it crashes into the river below,
Like a herd of horses thundering by.
So hard to miss, as you climb the calm, pleasant nature trail to the top,
And there, you can watch the sun shining like a light from heaven,
Through the mist, composing a rainbow.
As you drive away, when the day is done,
Towards the quiet, peaceful, northern roads of Canada,
You look back for one last glance of the beautiful waterfall,
“The Scenic High Falls.”
