The Center for Solar Research at NJIT also studies the Sun in radio wavelengths at the Owens Valley Radio Observatory. The spatial resolution is about 1 arcsec per pixel. Here, we show only a small portion of the full disk images near the solar north pole. The field of view is approximately 470 arcsec x 170 arcsec or 340,000 km x 125,000 km on the Sun. Please click on the image to see a MPEG movie of the mercury transit.
