UPDATE: My poor little girl died of Kidney Cancer 01/25/05

Malachite is half sister to a very lovely hedgehog I was blessed with for six months, named Confetti. As you can see from her pictures, "Gem" is a very pretty little girl. Little she is, she weighs about 3/4 a pound and is about the size of my hand. She has a couple small spots near the back of her skirt, and some snowflaking most likely due to the pinto spots. She has blue scleras and dark brown banding with lighter brown edges on her quills. She is a friendly girl though not as friendly as her sis Confetti was, still she is very nice.

This lovely girl was bred by Antigone Means of Hedgehog Valley. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Tig. If you are looking for a piglet of your own, check out her page. Hopefully Malachite will bred soon if I can find a suitable male.

You may be wondering, "What in the world does Malachite mean?" It is the name of a semi-precious gemstone I found on Thai Gems that I thought was a similar color to her quills. It turns out Malachite is actually a green gemstone but I had already named her by the time I found that out.
