Why Remus?

Where do I begin? Okies... I think it all started when, after two rather incompetent Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers, we had all more or less resigned ourselves to the idea that if Voldemort were ever to come back into power, we'd be able to do little more than twiddle our thumbs and sign up to be cannon fodder.

Then, suddenly, amidst the crowd of ho-hum, fundamental (or stupid) teachers, there comes THE teacher... the one that truly inspires you, that instills love and passion for the subject in you...! Or, at least, makes the class fun and educational! ^^ NEwayz, this is the role our dear Professor Remus J. Lupin plays in the lives of the Hogwarts Class of '97 (Harry and co.'s year, right?). Aside from being an intelligent, knowledgeable teacher, he is also incredibly fair, sensitive to his students' feelings, and walks very well the fine line between teacher-ly professionalism and a mentor-ly care for students. Oh, and it helps that he's young and lovely, too. ^__~

On top of all this, he happens to be one of James' best friends from school, and when we learn about the adorable antics of his past (the Marauders...kawaii!) and his tragic werewolf fate *sniffles* --how can you *not* love him? He always manages to come to the rescue too... whether Harry's trapped in Snape's office or the Shrieking Shack, Remus is there to set things right (ahh... a mini-Dumbledore!) ^^

So... why Remus? He's just such a fantastic teacher, bishounen, friend, and all-around person that you've gotta love him!
