For some reason, the Hogwarts founders really caught my interest, and this was one of my concept sketches for Rowena's design that came out quite nicely. I really love the medieval, fantasy-type stuff, so drawing cloaks and stuff was fun to do. Like I mentioned, I think Rowena's design was inspired a bit by the powerful and beautiful Organic Angel Alexial from my favorite manga series "Angel Sanctuary." As for the owl... well, even though Ravenclaw House's mascot is an eagle, I felt an owl suited the gentle and wise image I had of Rowena. (but poor owl, subjected to my failed attempts at drawing animals~! ;__;)
