Muramic wall-plaques 1971 – 1972

 

These were considered by Colin Rawson director of Hornsea pottery to be aesthetically and technically the best pieces every made by Hornsea pottery.

 

 

 

The wall plaques were 4 inches x 8 inches on an afrormosia wood backing.  Red clay was used. Screen-printed, and the designs were sometimes enhanced by a series of coloured red-clay circular buttons. Coloured to add to the effect.
