Its a beautiful Spring day here. The temperature is in the low 70s and there's just a bit of wind coming off of the Bay. Greg and I played catch and hit grounders and pop flies to one another until some of the younger kids came out to the field. So, we started hitting grounders to them. Pretty soon, they had enough kids for a full game, so Greg and I just watched for a while. I could hear more English than Spanish being spoken because most of the kids were Mexican. What a great game baseball is!
The volunteers from New Orleans (Jude and Chris) visited on Friday, and the volunteers from Mobile (Jason and Kevin) visited on Saturday, so we had a full weekend. We watched some baseball on Saturday morning and then played sand volleyball on the beach. Later that night, Tracy and I played 500 (a card game) with Br. Roy and Br. Donnan. Br. Roy has a cold right now, so I hope that I don't catch it. Playing cards is a good way to get sick.
I have a normal week ahead of me, but Hugo and Banny are coming to New Orleans for St. Patrick's day, and my brother Kevin is coming with a group from St. John's Vianney to volunteer for a week, so there are more exciting times ahead. Next time I write, I may have some good stories to tell!
