9/11/01 is a day that will remain in our minds forever. 4 commercial airline planes were hijacked and used as bombs. Only one did not make it to the original target, but was still crashed and killed everyone on the plane.

It severely saddens me that sooo many of my peers, including myself, couldn't comprehend much of this. Of course, for some, comprehending anything would be too difficult. I just can't believe how desentitized some of us are. Everything looked like all of those movies we've seen in the past 5 years or so. Blame technology I say. First off, without planes and technology to build those tall buildings, we wouldn't have this problem. Second, without technology we wouldn't be so damn desenitized. We'd have to do everything by hand...including killing our own dinner. And I can guarantee most of you would instantly become a vegetarian like me. Ok, ok, before I get too hypocritical. I know, if it weren't for technology, I wouldn't have this site to bitch and moan on, and all that nonsense. But I'm sorry, if my right to bitch and moan over the internet was taken away just so all of those lives could be saved, I'll hand it over now. Now, yes, some of you highly intelligent thinkers out there are saying, "well, alison, what about people that would die without the life saving technology?" Ya know what I say to that, a lot of the things people get sick from, or injured by have to do with technology, and also, there are soo many natural medicines(not necessarily weed) and other such things that could be used. I know we won't get rid of technology, because, like chaos, it wouldn't last. But I can dream, can't I?

"And dreadful objects so familiar/That mothers shall but smile when they behold/Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;/All pity choked with custom of fell deeds" -Anthony in Julius Caesar (III.i.266-269)

You pick, burn alive, or jump and die instantly. Hard choice isn't it? Take no one for granted here. You never know how long they'll be there to hug you and talk to you and party with you, or whatever else. Life is too fucking precious to waste being trivial (trust me, I'm trying very hard to take my own advice).

9/11/01

Dust and smoke

Firey sky

Everyone around

Asking, why?

Confusion and fear

Instant blame

Searching for the man

With no name

Hatred growing in

The ignorant

Facts and truth are

So important

Patriotic love and pride

Now bloom

As if to laugh in the face

Of doom

But beyond the brave facade,

We all wear

Is a change in safety, too scary

To even bear
