INITIAL REACTION Nice light. TECHNICAL ASPECTS Exposure is perfect, lighting excellent. ARTISTIC ASPECTS I would prefer to see less of a side view, more of a front view. I think it would have been a more flattering angle for the subject and would have cut out some of the distracting background. OTHER COMMENTS I know you were trying to stay out of the way of the wedding photographer and, therefore, couldn't really change your angle. I think this is a very nice image. |

INITIAL REACTION Love how the black and white shows such contrasts in the overall picture. TECHNICAL ASPECTS Sharp and clear focus ARTISTIC ASPECTS Reflections of the wedding are caught on the maid of honor's face as she reflects after the wedding. OTHER COMMENTS |

INITIAL REACTION Is she happy or unhappy? Is she tired? Is she wondering about something? TECHNICAL ASPECTS The background is too clear and sharp and therefore too distracting. With f-stop 1.4 or 2 (if possible) the main subject would be emphasized. Especially, the background behind the head is very distracting. B&W works very well with this subject - like with almost all subjects :) ARTISTIC ASPECTS The artistic impression could perhaps have been improved by taking the photo from the eye level of the young woman or even lower - and from a closer position. Taking it from a higher position takes away importance from the main subject. OTHER COMMENTS The photo is really not bad, Debbie! It may sound as if it was ... but it isn't :) |

INITIAL REACTION Trying to figure out the expression on her face TECHNICAL ASPECTS Cluttered background. Her head tends to blend in with the background directly behind her head. Good placement of subject in frame with the hands on the bottom 1/3 and head in the top third. ARTISTIC ASPECTS Good choice of B/W, works well with the dress she is wearing. OTHER COMMENTS I like the idea but feel that the background detracts a lot from the subject. I would have preferred to have her looking slightly towards the camera, I am assuming this is a candid shot though. |

INITIAL REACTION elegance, a quiet moment of reflection TECHNICAL ASPECTS great skintones I like the framing/cropping... the "L" formed by the hands/lap and back/chair. Because this was not a posed photo, the empty chairs to the left are distracting, and her hair blends into the wreath in the background a little ARTISTIC ASPECTS the mood is very clear; the black and white adds to the antiqueness of the surroundings OTHER COMMENTS one of my favourite wedding photos. I'm surprised and pleased |
