Well, once you see my other sections,
you can tell the subject of Flowers isn't my main thing. Of course I still
paintings, and have recently done some more, (soon I'll have a new one up).
Enjoy :)
Several years back, when I
was in grade 10, I believe, I registered for a Saturday course at the Chatham
Cultural Centre in painting Flowers in watercolours. These Daisies were a
study painted in one of the classes. It was kinda boring...
Couple
years back I was in a rut, because I didn't know what to get my Mom for Mother's
Day, then I decided to paint a still life from one of the roses she cut from
her garden. So here's the painting, which Mom has up in the washroom.
This
is a detail of the most recent flower painting I have finished so far. When
the Tulip tree in my front yard in Chatham was in full bloom, I cut off a flower,
and painted it. Most people aren't familiar with this flower, but its quite
common in the Chatham-Kent area. The blooms may be very high up in the tree,
and they point upward.
Here's another study of a
tulip painted in that Saturday class. I'm glad I was sitting in the front,
because the flowers were in a small vase on a table. I was the only young
person there too.
These Orchids were drawn with
colour pencil crayons. I drew this in 1994 and handed it in as a class assignment
for grade 10 art. I should paint some Orchids soon.
I can't believe I did this painting way back in 1994!
These flowers were painted as part of an exercise when I was learning watercolours
from Chatham's Joan Thatcher. She is an excellent teacher, and if you are from
Chatham or around the area, and are interested in learning some techniques,
Joan Thatcher is the one lady to check up on.
This Passion Flower is the most recent
watercolour painting of a flower as yet. Soon I'll be changing the layout
a bit to suit the paintings I have acquired through the use of my digital
camera as well :)
