This course is designed for the advanced singer who possesses a working knowledge of proper breathing and vocal techniques. These techniques will be dealt with , while the emphasis of the class is on the performance of the song as a continuation of the script in the realm of musical theatre. STudents will begin to use tone and color to gi e depth and meaning to a song; both in the context of a full-length performance and in the audition situation. Each student will prepare and perform a number of pieces throughout the course, receiving personal coaching and direction, and providing them with audition-ready material of varying musical styles and moods. Through this course, students will begin to combine their acting and singing training to create the unique and demanding performance style of musical theatre. (Elective, 2 hrs.)
