Especially designed for the Musical Theatre performer to create interest and progress in musical skills. The course is intended to teach young performers the fundamentals of reading musical notation. Through careful instructions pupils learn all the important symbols used in printed music and how they are put together to represent tunes. Participants master skills in reading metric signatures, rhythm patters and notation of pitch. Activities promote an awareness of tonality, harmony, musical terminology, scales, and key signatures. Music Theory is an invaluable course for singers, dancers and actors alike. (Elective, 2 hrs.)
