MONOLOGUE WORKSHOP

This course offers top-notch guidance in finding, rehearsing, and performing monologues. Monologue Workshop aupplies the student with the tools to find new pieces, to revive older material that is often neglected and how to adapt material from non-dramatic sources including letters, novels, autogiographies, short stories and news items. Other activities include improvising on the content of the chosen material, identifying structure in the speech, getting started out of context and structure in the speech, getting started out of context and staying alive in the pauses. Information and knowledge found here can transform the monologue experience from a terror into a joy. (Elective, 1hr)
