This course introduces the student to the skills utilized by a Director in unifying a play into a cohesive whole. Covers a full range fo proficiencies like: creating strong entrances and exits, the function of blocking and its power over speech, directorial style and even casting. An excellent course for actors as it promotes insight into, motivating stage movement, motivating non-movement and creating sharp characterizations. Participants begin to command accurate analysis and clear interpretation of the script while learning to coordinate design elements in a theatrical prodction. Directing touches on every aspect of production from planning a rehearsal schedule to and through technical reheearsals andperformance, (Elective, 2 hrs.)
