This course offers invaluable information for both the seasoned performer and the newcomer. Audition Technique introduces the student to the business related aspects of his/her art. The class addresses how to read the "trade papers", and how to handle a "cold reading". Plus, solid, practical advice on what goes into a successful resume and selecting the right headshot photographer. The class touches on documents of identity, union eligibility, qualifying for employment (qualifying for unemployment), and selecting the right audition monologue and song. Audition Technique presents sound hard-boiled facts for launching your acting career and avoiding common pitfalls actors make at auditions. (Elective, 2 hrs.)
