Professor McBride

Professor Nathaniel McBride
Professor McBride started his martial arts training in the early 1950's at the age of fourteen (14). At the age of eighteen (18), he enrolled in the United States Army, where he then embarked on a boxing career. While in the Army, Professor McBride studied the arts of Judo. Upon his return to the United States, he began to study the art of Sanuces Ryu Jiu-Jitsu under Grand Master Moses Powell.

Professor McBride decided to follow the path of his two instructors. Thus, he founded the Bronx School of Shotokan Karate. Even with his busy schedule, as founder and chief instructor McBride managed to adjust his time inorder to study the following systems:
Oikru-Ryu
Aiki-Jujitsu
Hakkoryu Jiu-Jitsu...
earning high ranks in each, whilst becoming proficient in the use of several weapons, the bow staff and six fingers of death. In the early 70's Professor McBride served as the Director of several karate tournaments.

On august 21, 1994 at a special ceremony held at the American Ju-Jitsu Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Professor McBride was promoted to Ninth (9nth) deree Black belt in Sancuces Ryu Jiu-Jitsu by Grand Master Mose Powell. This marked the first time to date that Grand Master Powell ever promoted anyone to such a high rank.

To date Professor Powell trains law enforcement officers and is a role model for our youth.
