Gohan is a half-Saiyan half-human first child(Saiyans are a warrior race of aliens, very dangerous!) He was born in 757 AD, on I'm pretty sure May 14(if I'm wrong, too bad, I'll celebrate it then anyway). Since Gohan is half Saiyan, he was born with a monkey-like tail! Piccolo pulled it off when he was young, though because it made him turn into a big ass monkey and he likes to destroy things. Gohan has a strict mom named Chi-Chi who always makes him study, but that's okay because he wants to grow up to be scholar anyway. His father is Son Goku, a fun-loving martial arts champion who just happens to be a Saiyan. Gohan has a little brother named Goten, who looks and acts almost exactly like Goku. Gohan does not enjoy fighting, but has the potential to become the greatest fighter ever. When Gohan was just 4 years old, he was kidnapped by his uncle Raditz. Even then he showed the signs of his incredible power, he did more damage to Raditz than Goku and Piccolo had done! Gohan didn't understand his power though, but that was something Piccolo was going to teach him. After Goku died fighting Raditz, two more Saiyans were headed for Earth, Vegita and Nappa.
The Earth needed someone to protect it. Piccolo took Gohan and trained him for a year until the Saiyans came. During this time, Gohan became very close to Piccolo, and even the once evil Piccolo fell in love with Gohan's childlike innocence. Goku was wished back to life to help defend the Earth, but didn't make it in time to save Yamcha, Tenshinhan, or Chautzu(they were all members of the Z-senshi, fighters who protect Earth). When Gohan was about to be killed by Nappa, Piccolo unexpectedly jumped in the way and sacraficed himself to save Gohan. When Goku got there, and saw his friends killed, he was angry. After a long battle, Goku, Kulilin(Goku's best friend), and the 5 year old Gohan defeated Nappa and even Vegita. However, at Goku's request, they spared Vegita and let him leave the Earth for good. When Piccolo died, the Earth Dragonballs died too because they were linked with him. So to wish back all of their friends that had died in the battle, Gohan, Kulilin, and Bulma(a friend of Goku's) set out for Piccolo's home planet to see if other people like him would have Dragonballs of there own. Goku couldn't go because he was still recovering from the battle with the Saiyans. When Gohan, Kulilin, and Bulma got to Namek(Piccolo's home planet), Vegita was there and so was a new enemy named Freeza. Freeza was the strongest person in the universe, and wanted the Dragonballs to wish for immortality. Vegita decided to help the Earthlings, and with the Namekian Dragonballs Piccolo was brought back to life. Finally Goku got to Namek, and together they all fought against Freeza, but just were't enough. After watching Vegita and Kulilin get killed by Freeza, and also watching Piccolo get very hurt, Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan! That's when a person with Saiyan blood transforms to become stronger.
Their hair spikes up, turns blonde, and their eyes turn a blueish greenish color. Goku ordered Gohan to get himself, Piccolo, and Bulma off the planet so that they wouldn't get hurt while he fought Freeza. With his new powers, Goku easily defeated Freeza, but Freeza and he had destroyed so much of the planet that before he could get into space, the planet blew into teeny pieces, Goku barely escaping alive. Gohan and everyone else all thought that Goku was dead. After wishing back everyone who was killed by Vegita and Nappa, the Z-senshi found a new planet for the survivors of the Namekian race to live on. Years later, Freeza and his father came to Earth! Freeza had survived because his father took his body and out in mechanical parts to replace what he had lost. Instead of finding Goku on planet Earth, he found a young man named Trunks(from the future, also known as Miria Trunks) there, who easily deafeated Freeza and his father, King Cold. Soon after, Goku came back to Earth! It turned out that he had survived by getting off the planet Namek before it exploded, but got lost in space. Trunks explained that he was Vegita and Bulma's son from the future. Trunks came to give Goku medicine for a heart virus he would get in the future, and to warn everyone of two killer androids that would attack. To prepare for the androids, Gohan and Goku trained in the Room of Spirit and Time, where one day was a whole year. In the Time Chamber, Gohan turned into a Super Saiyan for the first time at the young age of 10. However, when Gohan came out of the Time Chamber, he found out that the androids #17 and #18 had been sucked up by Cell. Cell was the ultimate android after he "ate" #17 and #18. He wanted to prove that he was the strongest fighter in the universe, and planned on destroying the Earth after he defeated the Z senshi. Cell started the Cell Games, a tournament where the people of Earth were challenged to fight Cell. Goku fought Cell first, but gave up and handed the position to his son, Gohan. Cell did not come close to defeating the Z senshi, because Gohan, at the age of 11, crushed him by going up to the next level that no one else had reached, Super Saiyan 2! Unfortunetly, before Gohan could defeat Cell, Cell decided to blow himself up and take the Earth with him. Goku sacraficed himself by using his instant transmission technique to transport Cell to another planet(King Kai's planet. King Kai had trained Goku when he died before) before Cell self-destructed. It was a sad time for Gohan, but the trouble wasn't over.
Cell had survived his self-destruction and came back. Cell killed Trunks and was more powerful that ever. Gohan didn't give up though, and used his father's tequnique, the Kamehameha, to kill Cell. A stupid coward named Mr. Satan lied and told everyone that he was the one who defeated Cell, and he got all the credit :-P After all this, Gohan's life goes back to normal. In DBZ movie 9, at a martial arts tournament funded by Mr. Money, Gohan had to defeat the evil Bojack, a space pirate. Now, back to Gohan. Gohan went to Orange Star High School in Satan City, and met his future wife Videl Satan. Later Gohan has a daughter named Pan with her, too...But lets not talk about ViDeL....that will only end violently... but seriously Gohan is my favorite character in DBZ (or in anything else for that matter).
