Families are important to the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service.  There are many educational opportunities dedicated to strengthening, extending resources and improving diet, nutrition and health of Independence County families.  Please feel free to call our office for more information on any of the programs or services listed below. 

The Best Care The Best Care

The Best Care program is a training program for childcare providers.  The Best Care classes fulfill the annual state requirement of ten hours of instruction for licensed childcare providers.  For information about the next scheduled program, call the Independence County Cooperative Extension office.

Extending Resources

Many publications are available on the topic of Extending Resources.  These resources help you learn money management skills to make sound financial decisions and achieve your financial goals.  Also, focus on basic money management, planning for emergencies, wise use of consumer credit, debt management and saving for short and long-term goals.  For more information call the Independence County Cooperative Extension office.

Reshape Yourself Reshape Yourself

Learn to reduce risk of chronic diseases by adopting healthy lifestyle practices and focus on healthy weight and fitness through the Reshape Yourself Weight Management Program.  This program helps Arkansans improve their eating habits, weight and health.  For more information call the Independence County Cooperative Extension office.
