Pine Bluff Bowhunters

The Pine Bluff Bowhunters club was formed in 1979 by a group of outdoorsmen who wanted to perpetuate the sport of bowhunting.  At its inception, we held our meetings at a local sporting goods shop.  We held monthly "club shoots" to hone our archery skills on a few acres of land bordering the Pine Bluff Arsenal, cutting a trail through the timber and building dirt berms on which to place paper targets.  Our range location has changed three times since those beginning days and we now have four ranges on which to hold our tournaments.

In 1980, the first annual Ben Pearson Memorial Tournament was held.  Shooters of all ages come to compete in this two day event and it has now become the largest invitational archery event in the surrounding states.

In addition to holding tournaments, the Pine Bluff Bowhunters have also worked closely with the local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to assist them in earning merits and awards.  At the very least, these efforts have rewarded us with friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

Our club currently holds meetings at the Edgewood Elementary School office (31st and Orlando Streets) on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.
