The Two Horn Classic

The photo above is a 260# Two Horn Classic that I shipped to a gentleman in Napa, California on 1/10/2001. This is what the anvil looks like right out of the box. I ship all my anvils in custom built wooden boxes to protect them during their journey from Europe to me and then on to my customers. I sell two other sizes of this style of anvil, a 167 lb version and a 118 lb version. All of the anvils look the same proportionally, except for the size and weight. This style should be familiar to most blacksmiths. There is a German manufacturer of anvils that makes an anvil that looks exactly like this anvil. In fact, I own one. They are an excellent anvil, however, the price is astronomical. Since I own one of these German anvils I decided to do an anvil rebound test and compare the German variety that sells for over $1,100. against the one I'm offering for $699. If you are looking for value without compromising quality - buy a Two Horn Classic
The Test
Using a one inch steel ball bearing held 24 inches above the face of each anvil, I dropped it and compared the rebound.
The German made Peddinghaus - bounced back to 22"
The Czech Republic Anvil (Germany and the Czech Republic share a common border) - bounced back to 22"
