Midi: Take My Hand Precious Lord
Hi, my name is Michelle. I am 24 and I live in Texas, but I'm originally from Louisiana.
I have 3 children and at the present, engaged to a wonderful man,
that treats and takes good care of me and my children.
I have Muscular Dystrophy and am in a wheelchair. I was diagnosed at the age of 11 years old. At the age of 15, I could no longer walk on my own without the
aid of someone holding me.
That is when I decided that I would be better off in
a wheelchair due to the fact that I kept falling
while trying to walk.
What I like to do is horseback riding, camping, swimming, laying out in the sun, go shopping (and who doen't like to go shopping..lol) and go out with friends.
What I like in a person is honesty, loyalty, nice personality and just being yourself and not pretend to be someone your not. And always remember, its not
your looks that counts, its the person on the inside that counts to me.
I am not judgemental and I would not like anyone to judge me for what I look like or can't do.
People look at me for what I have and not for what is inside.
What is Muscular Dystrophy?
It is a muscle
disorder that attacks the muscles, it can also cause heart attacks and major strokes.
This disorder does not kill, but is very deadly. It is not contagious it's
hereditary... if you know what that means!!! It defects the genes and I got this disorder from my dad...because he's the one that has the defected gene.
This is why I would like for you to read all my page before anyone REJECTS me,
and most of all don't want to talk to me any more after they read my homepage.
Does anyone know what HURT is? No
Well thats is what I
feel like when anyone rejects me after reading about what I have. I have feelings just like the next person.
Handicapped
When you first lay
eyes upon me
what is the first thing that you see do you see that I might be different or do you see the real me.
Can you look past my differences
and give me the benefit of the doubt?
Do you listen to the words I
speak or do I need to scream and shout.
Although this is not a perfect world
I am still the same as you if you can only see me for who I am
then you will find this true.
Although I may sit in
this chair, my heart has treasures that are untold if you would just take the
time to see me, then these treasures could truly unfold.
So the next time you
pass me please don't stop and stare open up your blinded eyes there is a friend
here if you dare.
So just take the time
to see me because I am the same as you and if you ask me if I am
different I answer yes, but then so are you
So if you think I am
different because I can't adapt then my friend you have the problem and it is
YOUR handicap.
Great Christian Poems
Take My Hand, Precious Lord
(Words & music by Thomas A. Dorsey)
Precious Lord, take my
hand Lead me on, let me stand I'm tired, I'm weak, I'm lone
Through the storm,
through the night Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious
Lord, lead me home When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near When my light is almost gone Hear my cry, hear my call Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious
Lord,
lead me home When the darkness appears and the night draws near And the
day is past and gone At the river I stand Guide my feet, hold my hand
Take my hand precious
Lord, lead me home Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, let me stand I'm
tired, I'm weak, I'm lone Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to
the night.
Take my hand precious
Lord, lead me home I Believe in the Man in the Sky
The steps that lead to
any church Form a stairway to a sstar They're part of God and should <Form a stairway to a star They're part of God and should be trod
More often than they are I believe in the man in the sky I believe with his
help I'll get by
My footsteps may
falter My eyes may grow dim But he's my Gibraltar I'm trusting in him
Though a sparrow is
all I may be On me he will still keep an eye Yes I'm singing his praise Till
the end of my days I believe in the man in the sky Sparrow, sparrow am I? an eye Yes I'm
singing his praise Till the end of my days I believe in the man in the sky
The LORD is a sun and
shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will HE withhold from
those who walk upright.
Don't Call me Disabled
Don't call me
disabled, that's not really true. How would you like it, if that's what I
called YOU?
Don't tell me I am not
normal, it hurts me thru and thru. What's normal for me is not normal for
you.
Just because I
am ill, and I am not like you. Don't just tell me, what I can't do. I may not
be called a Cadillac or a Rolls Royce.
However my illness,
was not my choice. For everything you tell me, that I can't do. There is
something else, I CAN show you.
First you say, that I
can't walk or run. However, I CAN still have lots of fun. I might be in an
awful lot of pain. Give me a moment, I will smile again. I might need time to
adjust. I know God is where I place my trust.
Now you say, I can't
socialize. I am here to tell you, that's all just lies. I talk and visit more
friends than you each day. I visit, with my computer, it's just another way.
For all the things you
say I can't do. I might just agree if I were you. I am just thankful
that I am me!
God will help me Be all that I CAN be You see, Everyone is special, in their own
way. It's just different, the way we live each day. Yes, I might struggle more
than you.
But God gave me
knowledge on How to DO it! He gives me strength to learn each day. How to do
everything in a different way. Even tho I am sick and sometimes weak.
Everyday it's to whom He speaks
