A Summers Day© You are guest number
By: J. Michael Stone
A summers day, oh what to do, the heat so unbearable, the happiest of people are sometimes turned blue.
Many are wishing for a cooling summer rain, just so that going outdoors will become bearable again.
Ironic isn’t it? When the rain is unwilling to cease, it’s sunshine we are wishing for to give us peace.
Ironic isn’t it? When the sun is shining way up high that our wish is for the sky to burst open and cry.
Are we just fickle or maybe hard to please? Perhaps we simply have no idea what to us will appease.
It seems we aren’t ever happy with whatever we’ve got, just as soon as we have it, we’ve hatched yet another plot.
So as there are those that are wishing on rain, and those who rally for the sun.
I will seize the magic of this day and with the whole of my heart, make my own brand of fun.
