About My Patterns
Hi I have been told that is pattern works really great for pillows. I have add at the bottom a better way for afghans! I hope that you will enjoy this pattern also!!

LEONA'S ANGEL SQUARE PATTERN
Materials:
small amounts of yarn.
"E" and "G" hooks
Make 1 Angel per square.
Angel:
Rnd 1: Ch 4, 11 dc in 4th ch from hook; join with slip st to 4th ch of beg. Ch 4: (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Slip st in next dc, sc in same st, ch 5, skip next dc, sc in next dc, slip st in next 5 dc, ch 3, 5 dc in same st; ch 3, turn work.
Row 3: Dc in same st, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in last st, ch 3, turn (8 dc)
Row 4: Dc in same st, dc in next 6dc, 2 dc in last st, ch 1, turn. (10 dc)
Row 5: SC in same st,*ch 2, sc in next dc; repeat from * across. Finish off ( 9 ch loops)
WINGS:
Row 1: Attach yarn overdc post on rnd 2; working away from head; Ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, tr) over same dc post. Finish off, weaving in all ends. Repeat for second wing.
SQUARE:
Rnd 1: Attach COLOR 2 with sl st to middle ch on angels head, Ch 8, attach with sl st to back of top wing(point), Ch 6, attach with sl st to bottom corner of dress, ch 3, attach with sl st to center bottom of dress, ch 3, attach to opposite bottom corner of dress, ch 6, attach to opposite wing, ch 8, join with sl st to be sl st.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, hdc in next 3 chs, skip next ch, 3 hdc in next ch ( corner), *skip next ch, hdc in next 7 chs, skip next ch, 3 hdc in next ch* Repeatfrom * to * around. Ending after corner with hdc in next 3 chs; join with sl stto top ofbeg ch 2.
A tip to hold angel's halo up.
when you are at the end, befor slip stitch, insert hook on a back ch in center of halo then in the top of joining chain. pull though both peices.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in next 3hdc, 2 dc in next hdc, skip 1, working in center hdc of corner*(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc), skip next hdc, 2 dc in next hdc, dc in each of next 5 hdc, 2 dc in next,skip next st * Repeat from * to * around, ending with: skip next st,2 dcin next, dc in last 2 hdc, join with sl stto top of beg ch 3.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next, dc, skip next. *In corner ch 1 sp work ( 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc)**,skip next, dc, 2 dc in next, dc in next 7 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc, skip next* Repeat from * to * 3 times ending at ** then skip next , dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2. Join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch 1 sp around. Finish off (72 sc)
NEW!!!! For Afghans
Follow instruction for above square, EXCEPT in the cornes work (2dc, ch 2, 2dc) Then on the last round work dc instead of sc with the (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc)in the corners. This will bring your corners to more of a square!!!
You can also work the dc's instead of the sc. This will bring the pattern more to a true 6" square.
