At the start of the second edition, the
Chronicle found itself with just six full-time members to do the planning and researching work. Things got off to a slow start, but when everyone had contributed an idea for a story or article, things began to speed up. After two weeks, four stories had been finished and three more were on the way. With the loss of one member, those that were left had to take on new responsibilities, and learn new jobs.
The
Chronicle was given permission to tour the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. It was a very enlightening trip, and it gave the reporters a chance to flex their writing muscles and engage in some serious interviews. After leaving the campus, they toured the Texarkana Gazette and were able to see a newspaper company at work.
With a little over a week left to print, the
Chronicle reporters rushed to finish their stories. Then it came to the Layout Editor to create the pages. Working long into the night, and battling headaches and eventual fatigue, the 2nd Edition of the
Chronicle was finally finished. But disaster struck the next day, when the disk carrying the edition was found to be empty. But, luckily, the clever Layout Editor saved an extra copy onto the computer, so all was well.
The Cossatot
