PURPLE HEART

Before 'unprovoked attack'.

On June 8, 1967, during the Six Day War between Israel and the Arab States, the American intelligence ship USS Liberty was attacked for 75 minutes in international waters by Israeli aircraft and motor torpedo boats. Thirty-four men died and 171 were wounded, defending the USS Liberty against the sustained air and sea attack by the armed forces of the State of Israel. The attack has been a matter of controversy ever since yet United States has not spent one cent to pursue the investigation!!!
Israel and its supporters insist it was a "tragic case of misidentification" and charge that the survivors are either lying or too emotionally involved to see the truth.....
I Say Bull !!!
My opinion...." The government has done an excellent job of covering up the incident, at the expense of 34 dead and the lives of all the ships living crew having to live with anguished minds...but of course the government has termed these men 'expendable thus making them sacrificial lambs', for it's political causes !!!.... The U. S. Navy intelligence vessel that was on a mission... off the coast of North Korea. On January 23, 1968, the USS PUEBLO was attacked by North Korean naval vessels and MiG jets. Eighty-two (82) surviving crew members were captured and held prisoner for 11 months. It was the first time in 150 years that a U.S. Navy ship was hi-jacked by a foriegn force.
The survivors were held in two different compounds during their imprisonment in North Korea. One in Pyongyang, the other in the nearby countryside. Always being terrorized to 'confess to being spies", and many were beaten, including Capt. Bucher... who was not only beaten but threatened with "your crew will be executed if you do not confess". They went through "hell" being "terrorized for 11 months"
The PUEBLO crew walked across the Bridge of No Return to freedom 11 months after their capture. The PUEBLO remained in North Korea
