George Claiborne 1845 - 1905

This headstone inscription is the only information that I have to date on George Claiborne. I will be doing some looking at census records, etc. to see if I can locate a family by this name in Baxter or Fulton County, Arkansas.

The full inscription reads:

ASLEEP IN JESUS
GEORGE A.
husband of JANE CLAIBORNE
BORN JULY 20, 1845
DIED JUNE 17, 1905
AGED 59YS. 10M. 27DS.

On the back of the marker base is the following inscription:
A precious one from us has gone.
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in our home
which never can be filled.

This stone measures "H x "W x "D.

It is located in a back section of the cemetery on the left end. It is the first marker on the left (nearest the fence) and is followed by several fieldstone marked graves. In the next row closer to the front of the cemetery is Ambrose H Fluty and in the row closer to the back are the markers for Samuel and Sarah Mabrey.
