The Choate Family

According to granddaughter, Deanna Choate Slutter, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, William Franklin Choate was married to Dicie Catherine Huddleston.

Their son, Lawrence Arthur Choate, married Nellie Marie Shrable (the daughter of Myrza and Mattie Byrd Shrable) and they were the parents of:

  • Barbara (infant buried at Fluty)
  • Ginger
  • Larry and
  • Deanna

    Dicie Catherine Huddleston was the daughter of Abraham M and Martha M Huddleston who are also buried in this cemetery.

    The full inscription reads:

    It is located in a section far forward of the cemetery nearest to the front gate and to the left. Graves nearby Huddleston, Cowan and Choate.

    Per the "Baxter Bulletin" of January 20, 1933, 'William Franklin Choate died at age 15 on November 15, 1932, at Gamaliel.'

    In the March 12, 1937 issue of the "Baxter Bulletin" appeared the following (abstract):
    "Died Albert Choate March 7, burial was in Fluty Cemetery"

    Then in the March 16, 1937 issue appeared the following (abstract):
    "Died Albert Choate on Sunday, March 7, 1937"
