A saint that is so young and so close to God. Her name is Saint Philomena. Saint Philomena not only helps you with your problems , but also helps you realize how important God is and that the evil things in the world are not his fault, but the fault of the people who cut themselves off from God`s love. She is a patron saint for teenagers.

Philomena was a young martyr. On the tomb of the saint were symbols of a lily, and a palm to indicate her virginity and martyrdom. There was also an anchor, a whip, and three arrows all pointing the opposite direction showing fire. These showed tortures which the martyr endured while expressing her faith and love for Jesus Christ. We know from private relation that Saint Philomena was so devoted to Christ that she fled from her mother`s aunts to die for faith. She died a very tragic death. She was stripped and beaten, and then taken back to prison and there breathed her last breath. Let youth take courage and go to Jesus through her when we need help. Let us all be courageous and love God as Philomena did. She is also the patroness of the children of mary.
