When peer pressure is at it`s worst and temtations are closing in around you, who are you supposed to turn to? When it feels like there is no escape from temptation, you should pray to Saint Michael the Archangel. Saint Michael is the type of divine fotitude. Saint Michael`s name means "Who is like to God?" which was his battle cry against Lucifer during the conflict of the heavenly host. Saint Michael is one of the three archangels know by name: Gabriel, Michael, and Raphael. Archangels are chiefs and leaders trusted by God with important missions, where angels are messengers of God. Daniel names him as protector of both covenants, and Saint John sees him as defender of the church. He is also protector of a soldiers. Saint Michael prepared the Israelites to return from exile in Persia, he led the Maccabees to victory, and rescued the body of Moses. The church calls on him for this intercession in matters concerning dying people, protection in battle, confession of sin, and escorting people from purgatory to heaven. Michael will be the savior of Christ when the anti-christ comes. On September 29, Saint Micael and all other angels are honored.

We pray to Saint Michael, saying:

"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell satan and other evil spirits, who prowl about the world searching for the ruin of souls. Amen"
