Faustina was born in Helena Kowegra in the village of Glogowiee on Poland on August 25, 1905. She was the third of ten children. When she was 20 she recieved the name Sister Maria Faustina. In the 1930`s she recieved a message from the Lord and was told to spread it throughout the world. She was asked to become the apostle and secretary of God`s mercy. Her entire life was in imitation of Christ and was to be a sacrifice- a life lived for others. In her daily life she was to become doer of mercy by bringing joy and mercy. She was to encourage others to trust in him and thus prepare the world for his coming again. For four years she recorded divine relations and mystical experiences together with her own thoughts, insights, and prayer.

Jesus asked her to have a picture of him painted showing his great love and mercy coming from his sacred heart. He promised great graces to those who venerate this picture. At the bottom it says JESUS I TRUST IN YOU!
