Allen and Elizabeth Rogers Pyeatt
Allen Piatt was born November 17, 1826, in Butler County, Ohio, to Jacob and Jane Thompson Piatt (see John and Francis Van Vliett Piatt page) and died January 17, 1899, in Carl Township, Adams County, Iowa. He married on November 27, 1862, in Henry County, Illinois, ( volume A pg 104 license #1862197)
Elizabeth A Rogers who was born April 27, 1841, in Ripley County, Indiana, to Elijah and Nancy Beach Rogers and who died October 24, 1919, in Carl Township, Adams County, Iowa. Allen and Elizabeth are both buried in the Mt Zion Cemetery in Adams County, Iowa.

The 1900 census for the same area lists Elizabeth Piatt as head of household. The 1910 census for Fresno, Fresno County, California, lists Benjamin F, Nettie M and daughter Helen M Piatt.
A lengthy biography of Allen Piatt was printed in the BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY OF MONTGOMERY AND ADAMS COUNTIES [IA], Lewis Publishing Co (1892), page 429-30. It states that Jacob Piatt was a native of Penn Valley Pa and that Jane Thompson was a native of the Juniata Valley of Pennsylvania. Also mentioned is "the late Hon Joseph McDonald, of Indiana was a first cousin of Allen Piatt." Allen's parents lived in Butler Co, OH, until 1842 when they moved to Henry Co, IL, settling six miles south of Cambridge where they "passed the rest of their lives." Elijah Rogers was a native of Indiana and Nancy Beach of Kentucky and a daughter of James Beach.
