This is my hunting companion and me just after his first take of the day! We spend several hours together hunting tree squirrels. He is in his third year ( 3 time intermewed) and I have been practicing this sport or art for approximately 16years. Nations weighs between 33-34 oz, though small in size he makes up for it in his desire of pursuit. These critters can take their toll on a seasoned Red-tail and an over weight falconer, such as myself. Unlike the bunnies they fight back with razor sharp teeth and have the strength that is unmatched by other would be prey. Just like any other prey hunted either by conventional methods or unconventional, such as falconry you need to study their habits within their ecosystem prior to the pursuit.
