History: (Leading Comics #3) - <1200 BC> Ulysses and his men prepared to sack Troy with the Trojan Horse, a giant wooden sculpture that served as a symbol of peace, but contained Greek soldiers. The modern era villain Dr. Doome fled from his enemies the Seven Soldiers of Victory to Ulysses' time, and claimed that enemies of Greece were following him. The Soldiers did indeed follow Doome through time, but when Ulysses saw how valiantly they fought against his men he realized they must be heroes. Doome's gig was up, so he returned to his present, with the Soldiers in pursuit.
(Beowulf #5) - On his return from the Trojan War Ulysses found himself stranded on the island of the sea-nymph Calypso. Ishtar and En-Lil, aliens posing as Mesopotamian gods, were collecting great warriors and putting them in a cryogenic sleep aboard their spaceship. They captured Ulysses, and he remained in suspended animation until the Middle Ages, when he was freed by the warrior Beowulf, who resisted the aliens attempt to add him to their collection. Beowulf destroyed the spaceship's control panel, causing it to crash into Atlantis. The chain reaction sunk the continent, but Beowulf and Ulysses survived. Athena heard Ulysses' pleas and appeared to him, sending him back in time to the island of Calypso.
