First Appearance: (Artemis II) Infinity, Inc. #34 (January, 1987) (Tigress III) JSA #9 (April, 2000)

Powers: Tigress was an exceptional athlete and combatant. She was a skilled archer and sometimes used explosive arrows.

History: Artemis was the daughter of 1940s' era villains Sportsmaster and Huntress I, who named their daughter after the Olympian goddess of the hunt. As a young woman Artemis took up the family trade of crime and joined Injustice, Unlimited, a team of first and second generation villains.

Injustice, Unlimited held the businessmen of a Canadian trade conference hostage, but were defeated by the combined force of Infinity, Inc. and the Global Guardians.

(JSA #9, 10) - Artemis took up the identity of Tigress and joined Johnny Sorrow’s Injustice Society. The Injustice Society broke into JSA Headquarters while the only hero at home was Wildcat. Wildcat single-handedly defeated the Society, but afterwards Johnny Sorrow teleported his team to safety.

(JSA #16, 17) - Johnny Sorrow split the Injustice Society into small teams and had them attack various JSA members. Tigress, Shiv and Icicle assaulted JSA headquarters, and Tigress gravely injured Green Lantern by shooting him with a wooden arrow made from the remains of Blackbriar Thorn. Tigress was defeated by Hawkgirl and her teammates were beaten by Star-Spangled Kid II.

(Hawkman IV #1-4) - Kristopher Renard Roderic hired Tigress, Copperhead and Shadow Thief to go to India and steal the Third Eye of Shiva from archaeologist Danny Evans. They'd worked for him before to steal artifacts from the Vatican, but that job had gone south. When Danny uncovered the underground temple they made their move, and Copperhead was ready to eat the archaeologist, but his friends Hawkman and Hawkgirl arrived on the scene. Artemis was happy to have a rematch with Hawkgirl, having convinced herself that she'd only lost last time because Hawkgirl got lucky. They clashed, and the battle went in the Hawks favor. Roderic had the local military in his pocket, and they phoned him to tell him the Hawks had almost reached the Eye, so he ordered a missile strike, caring little for the survival of his hired muscle. The Hawks and their foes survived, but the temple was blasted open, which summoned the Komeriah, guardians of the Eye. The Hawks and their foes survived, but the temple was blasted open, and the Eye opened up a dimensional portal to the Battlelands, home of Shiva's children, taking Hawkman, Shadow Thief and Copperhead into the other dimension. On Earth Tigress pried the Eye loose from the statue of Shiva it was attached to and fled. Tigress bragged that he dad always taught her there were only a few winners in a world of losers, and she was definitely a winner. Hawkgirl followed her, and stole back the diamond, using it to return Hawkman to Earth. Tigress threatened to break her face, but Roderic's militia were displeased with her and aimed their guns on her. She escaped, and was furious at Roderic's betrayal, but he claimed the militia acted on their own.

(JSA All-Stars #1) - Under orders from the Injustice Society’s new leader Legacy (Wizard) Tigress and her teammates broke Icicle II out of D.E.O. custody and fought the JSA. Using some of Legacy’s arcane devices the Injustice Society transported the founding members of the JSA to a prison in a pocket dimension, then Legacy teleported the Injustice Society to safety.
