Powers: The Superman Monster had incalculable levels of superhuman strength and invulnerability. He possessed the powers of x-ray vision, heat vision and flight. Since he was empowed by Kryptonian technology his powers probably came from being under a yellow sun. He was vulnerable to Kryptonite, prolonged exposure to which would kill him.History: (Superman Monster #1) -<1883> Vicktor Luthor was obsessed with conquering death, and when he discovered a Kryptonian birthing matrix he hoped to use it to raise the dead. The birthing matrix came with a holostat of Jor-El, who gave Luthor access to Kryptonian science, and using what he learned Luthor created a Kryptonian revival matrix. He stitched together several bodies and used the matrix to reanimate his patchwork creature. At first glance the Superman Monster seemed like a failure, he was still scarred and pale and could not speak. Luthor feared people would persecute him for creating such a creature, and sought to destroy it. The Superman Monster fled the public eye until it met the Kants a kindly farm couple who took it in, gave it an education and named him Klaus Kant. His birth scars healed and he gained a more human appearance. Luthor discovered his location and attacked the Kants' cottage, causing their death. The Superman Monster confronted Luthor at Luthor's wedding to Eloise Edge. Luthor captured the Superman Monster, but not before accidentally fatally shooting his bride. Superman escaped captivity, only to find Luthor reviving Eloise with the revival matrix. The resurrected Eloise and the Superman Monster realized they were made for each other and left together. They made a home in the arctic, and Luthor followed them, only to die of exposure. Superman collected his creator's body and was never seen from again.
