Powers: When mild-mannered Tadwallader got angry he transformed into the super-groovy Super-Hip, a talented singer and dancer. Super-Hip could fly, possessed superhuman strength, had an electric guitar that compelled people to dance when he played it, and rode in the souped-up car Suzie Q.

History

(Doom Patrol V #21 (fb)) - Tadwallader's old school buddy Cliff Steele dropped by after he d been in a racing accident and his brain was implanted into a robot. He knew Tadwallader had a high tolerance for weird, and he knew he had nowhere else to go. Tad was slightly surprised, but told him he could crash, which meant the world to Cliff.

(Doom Patrol V #20 (fb, BTS)) - Super-Hip began playing in Vegas in 1966, and made a huge name for himself. He remained a star performer in  Vegas for decades with his Elvis Presleyesque act.

(Doom Patrol V #21 (fb)) - Cliff Steele approached Super-Hip for advice after his teammates in the Doom Patrol died, and he was asked to join a new patrol founded by the super heroine Celsius. He said he was considering joining Celsius because he didn t have anything better to do. Super-Hip told him he was always melodramatic, and he should start considering what he actually wanted out of life.

(Doom Patrol V #20, 21) - Super-Hip's old friend Robotman and his superhero team the Doom patrol became political refugees after being kicked out of their nation Oolong Island. Super-Hip thought it would be exciting to harbor fugitives, so he allowed them to crash with him until they found a more permanent home, but warned them that if they broke any of his expensive stuff, they d pay for it. The DP was turned down by the superhero community when they went looking for a safe haven, and Super-Hip convinced them to listen to their former arch-enemy General Immortus, who suggested they invade Oolong and take it for themselves. After some soul-searching Robotman made the decicion to go along with Immortus.
