Examples of its' powers include flight, phasing, creating giant objects formed of energy, and force fields.

History: (Green Lantern IV #19 (fb)) -  On a flight the Zamarons abducted Carol Ferris, appearing to her as Amazonian Earthwomen. They presented her with the Star Sapphire, and told her she d been chosen to spread their vision of love and seduce and kill Green Lantern. The sapphire possessed her and she became Star Sapphire.

(Green Lantern II #36) - Carol Ferris was working late and preparing to lock up the plans for a multi-million dollar nigh-fighter plane, the Z-25, when a mechanized toy clown on a pogo stick snatched the plans up. She roused Hal, and they pursued the clown by car, but it made a getaway by leaping from a cliff. Hal secretly used his GL ring to put a tracking beam on the toy clown, tracking it to a den of spies led by inventor Eben Marlow. GL returned the plans to Carol, and she demanded he accept her reward of a dinner date. He protested that she should invite Hal, and she told him she would, but the later Hal showed up the better. GL understood the irony of competing against himself for Carrol's affections.

(DC Comics Presents #6) - GL battled Star Sapphire above Star City, she was again attempting to defeat him and force him to marry her. Carol had recently broken up with him, and subconsciously his love for her almost made him want to marry Star Sapphire, to accept Carol even in this twisted state. His willpower weakened and she defeated him, but in his injured state he fled to Metropolis and gave his ring to Superman. Superman battled Star Sapphire, and she tried to rattle him by proclaiming her feminine superiority and needling him for daring to interfere with her love for GL. She used her mind over matter powers to reclaim the ring, flew off, found GL in the hospital, and piloted a starship to Zamora for their forced marriage. Superman used the JLA s satellite to track the likeliest path to Zamora and intercepted them. He defeated Star, taking her sapphire and returning her to her Carol Ferris identity. GL returned her to Earth.

(Green Lantern II #124) - Ferris attended the opening of the New Age Museum dedicated to space travel and reminded Hal Jordan they were employee and employer and nothing more to each other. Sinestro flew in and destroyed the museum.

(Green Lantern II #125-127) - Carol gave Hal the X-235 to test out on his first day of work, but he was called away to battle Sinestro. She reminded him that she hired Hal Jordan not Green Lantern. He later returned with Fabian, a young boy who's uncle was missing after an encounter with the Shark, and asked Carol to watch over him. Carol told him he had a lot of nerve. She took Fabian home, where he found a spacesuit.

(Green Lantern III #81) - Green Lantern defeated Qward Weaponers that tried to destroy an experimental Ferris plane, and Carol thanked him with a hug.

(Green Lantern III #32, 33) - Carol Ferris was tired of being depressed after having lost so much time being Star Sapphire. She was also sick of living in a hotel room, so to get out of her funk she treated herself to a make-over and rented an apartment. Hal told her he was ready to be more than just friends, but she wouldn't give him a definitive yes or no. Carol went about setting up shop for Hal's air transport company.

(Green Lantern III #34) - Hal imposed on Carol to keep Arisia, Tom Kalmaku and his family in her apartment while he went of on a mission to Oa. She objected, but Hal was gone before she could refuse the favor.

(Green Lantern III #47 (fb, BTS) - Carol was approached to work for Crosswinds Corporation by someone she thought was her father back from the dead. It was actually a robot created by her mother, but the trick worked, she would do whatever Crosswinds wanted because she felt she owed Carl ferris.

(Green Lantern III #45-47) - Carol got a call offering her her job back as a consultant at Ferris, and she accepted. The call was cut off by the sound of an explosion; what Carol heard was Coast City being destroyed by Mongul. She jumped in her car and raced to Coast City to see what happened. Tom Kalmaku followed her, and she observed him being kidnapped from her car by Flicker. She arrived at Coast City and was stunned to see it totally gone, and after meeting up with Hal she told him about Tom's kidnapping. She admitted putting money into Hal's air-taxi business on behalf of Crosswinds Corporation, and suspected that Tom was kidnapped because he learned about it. At Crosswinds Carol learned that the Carl Ferris that supposedly ran the company was actually a robot manipulated by the true owner, her mother. Her mother orchestrated Crosswinds manipulations in an effort to make Carol happy by rebuilding Ferris and bringing Hal closer to her. Tom was freed and Carol broke things off with Hal, telling him she wanted to throw herself into business and wanted to work exclusively with her mother.

(Green Lantern III #81) - Coast City; Carol attended a memorial service for Green Lantern Hal Jordan, and gave a tearful speech to the assembled heroes there.

(Green Lantern III #102) - Carol Ferris started a new Ferris Aircraft business in Indiana and got Tom Kalmaku to accept a position as project manager. Carol and Tom met the time-traveling Hal Jordan of 10 years ago. After a happy reunion they witnessed Hal battle Kalibak, who caused massive damage to Ferris Aircraft before being defeated by Hal. Hal decided to stay with Carol and Tom for a while.

(Green Arrow III #16 (fb)) - Carol attended Oliver Queen's funeral.

(Green Lantern: Rebirth #1, 2) - Carol called her husband Gil to let him know she was thinking of buying back the old Ferris airfield, which was on the market. She found Hal Jordan s old plane and stared at it, reminiscing until Hal appeared to her. He restored the airfield, and they talked about the first time they met on the airfield as children, when Hal saw his father die. Although Carol was happy to see him she told him she was already married.

(Green Lantern: Rebirth #6) - Carol offered Hal, who was newly resurrected, a job once she restarted Ferris Aircraft, but he told her he had other things he needed to do.

(Green Lantern IV #15, 17 (BTS)) - The Star Sapphire, in search of Hal Jordan, landed in Salisbury, England and took possession of backpacker Krystal. She became Star Sapphire, and fatally blasted a man who was trying to seduce her because he didn t love her. The Star Sapphire realized she could only be a temporary host because her body was not the one Hal desired. She traveled to Ferris Air in Northern California to find Carol Ferris and possess her.

(Green Lantern IV #18-20) - Carrol Ferris made Tom a full partner at Ferris Air, and he met with investors, who were displeased that Carol, a former shark of a businesswoman, was always late to meetings. She preferred the thrill of flying whenever she could, but on this flight she was once again possessed by the Star Sapphire. Star Sapphire tracked Hal Jordan to Edwards Air Force Base, where he was having drinks with his new love interest Cowgirl. Sapphire made it clear she wasn't willing to share Hal, but the spunky Cowgirl hit her with a chair to lay her claim. Sapphire found Hal especially resistant to her, noticeable because Carol was now married to another man, so Sapphire transferred her essence to Cowgirl, sensing Hal s hunger for her. Hal fled with Carol, and she told him that the Star Sapphire revealed its history to her. The Zamarons found it on the planet they settled on, and there were numerous sapphire crystals. The Zamarons were determined to use the sapphires to seduce and kill all the Green Lanterns, and then crystallize the planets they protected, keeping them in suspended animation, which the Zamarons viewed as protection through love. Hal thought this was a pretty warped view of love, and Carol asked him what he knew about love, seeing as he never even liked the word. She was angry that he was interested in another woman, and he reminded her that she was married. She shot back that he was dead when she got into a relationship, and he responded that he wasn't dead for that long. Cowgirl caught up with them, and at Carol s request he made her an energy ring costume so she could fight her rival. The Zamarons arrived, declaring that since other Corps were rising they needed their own, and Carol and Cowgirl would be their first members. When Hal fought them they demanded he choose between his two loves, but he outwitted them by kissing one of the Zamarons, causing the Star Sapphire to bind to her. The power was too much for her, and the Zamarons retreated. Afterwards Hal got drinks with Carol and Cowgirl, and despite their innate cattiness towards each other they attempted to play nice. Carol left early to let them be along, and Hal promised Cowgirl he was over his ex. The next day Hal visit Ferris Air to check in on Carol, and Tom Kalmaku told him she was up flying her plane. She seemed much happier since she divorced her husband.
