History(Starfire II #1 (fb)) - Koriand'r and Komand'r were royalty in the House of Tamarus on the planet Tamaran. The Citadel invaded the planet, massacring the inhabitants, including the girl's parents. Komand'r, now queen, surrendered, and was put in place as a puppet ruler of Tamaran, while Kori was exiled. Kori was experimented on, and gained superpowers. She led a slave result, and made her way off-planet, ending up on Earth.

(Starfire II #1, 2) - Starfire arrived in Key West to start a new life, and met with sheriff Gomez, explaining her history and powers. She needed a job and a place to live, and for startup money she used some jewels she'd brought with her from space. Gomez and Starfire had some drinks together, and Gomez tried to explain the human concept of sarcasm and metaphor, which flew over Starfire's head. Two guys started a fight over Starfire, hoping to hook up with her, and she put an end to their dispute by firing a starbolt at them. Gomez found a trailer to rent, operated by Boone and his grandmother. Starfire thought Boone was beautiful, and kissed him, telling him she could learn language that way. Gomez reminded her she already knew English, but Starfire said she was hoping for more English. Hurricane Betty hit Key West, and Starfire brought those caught unaware, including Tina and her grandson Boone to a shelter at the local school. Sheriff Gomez asked for Starfire's help when her coast guard brother Sol went missing trying to bring back the one still boat on Key West's waters when the hurricane hit, and Starfire hoped Sol was as pretty as his sister. They drove the SWAT tank to weather the storm, but Starfire made Gomez pull over when she saw Tina's missing parrot Bertie. Starfire saved Sol from drowning, but lost her way in the storm, ending up in the Dry Tortugas. Sol asked some rangers to call for a ship back to Key West because Starfire had temporarily exhausted her powers. Back home Starfire found her trailer destroyed, and Stella offered to move her into an apartment over her garage as thanks for saving her idiot brother. Starfire spotted a giant footprint, and wondered what animal it could have come from.

(Starfire II #3, 4) - Starfire cleaned up the hurricane damage to her new dwelling, and was fascinated by the garden gnomes she found, she told Sol they resembled the extraterrestrial Peregot People, some of the universe's first great explorers. Starfire asked if he was upset at the idea of her living above the garage, and he said the apartment was filled with old unfulfilled dreams, and Starfire promised not to press him on it. After her first stab at grocery shopping Sheriff Gomez called in Starfire when a cruise ship crashed into the docks. They investigated, and found nothing but dead crew members. Gomez told Starfire to wait for her at the Blue Monkey diner, if something dangerous was aboard she'd feel responsible if Starfire got hurt, despite her insistence that she could take care of herself. Starfire was quite popular at the diner, with every man there buying her drinks. She asked the waitress why, and learned that it was initiation of a human mating ritual. A Chida monster burst into the restaurant, and the waitress revealed herself as the subterranean superhero Atlee, whom the monster was after. Starfire at Atlee moved the battle outside and decided to team up to fight it. The monster grew stronger the more energy was directed at it, so Atlee tossed the Chida to Starfire, who flew him far over the ocean, and began pounding him until he was of immeasurable size. The Chida tried to grab Starfire as he sank, but Starfire blasted his hand apart, and when he reached the ocean bottom he collapsed it, sinking deep into the earth. Starfire was intrigued with Atlee, and invited her over to go in her swimming pool sometime, and said she always preferred swimming naked. Gomez started freaking out.; within days Key West had seen more metahuman activity than it ever had in the entirety of her career. Starfire's solution was to give Gomez a big hug, which the sheriff wasn't keen on. Gomez asked the heroes if they could at least try to be low-key. Starfire went out for drinks, and met Boone and his girlfriend Vita. After explaining how she kissed Boone to learn English, and apologizing because she knew humans favored monogamy, Vita stormed off.

(Starfire II #5) - She met Soren Hook, and she clasped Hook's hand, seeing a vision of his past. Hook was a renowned doctor who had the ability to absorb his patients' cancer inside himself, but the cancer formed a tumor in his brain, and he went mad, killing another doctor. Starfire wanted to help him, but the unexplained vision made him run away. One of the eggs Starfire had in a pouch hatched, transforming into an energy being, and she awed at the experience. Starfire had to cover her rent, and Sol sent her to a job interview at an aquarium. She was unqualified, even though she was entranced with sea life, but the director was impressed with her passion and gave her a tour. One dolphin named Beth was faring poorly, so Starfire swam with her and kissed her to learn her language. Starfire told the director she'd been separated from her mate, and wanted to be released into the wild to find him. Her incredible performance landed her the job. After a raucous party Starfire returned home to find Hook waiting for her.

(Starfire II #6) - Starfire subdued Hook, but got more flashes of his past as she witnessed him losing control and killing people. Sol was alive and rushed to the hospital, and Sherriff Gomez took Hook into custody. Starfire thought Sol was one of the best men she'd met, and asked him out on a movie date when he was better. They ate at the hospital cafeteria, and Starfire discovered the wonder of pancakes. A nearby airport was on fire, and Starfire flew there, confronting alien bounty hunter Kragg Korn Kee, who'd been hired by Blackfire to find Starfire. Starfire defeated him, and didn't want the Citadel coming after her again, so after putting him in his starcraft's sleep tank she set it on auto-pilot to fly to another galaxy far from Tamaran.

(Starfire II #7, 8) - Starfire made quick friends with Beth the dolphin, and asked Sol why humans treated other species on Earth so porrly, but he said the answer would take all night. Starfire said they could skip their date and drink all night, and Sol wondered if she was as innocent as she acted. They went on a dinner cruise, and shared a kiss, but Sol was still torn up about the death of his ex-girlfriend Maria. Starfire understood his conflicted emotions, and said she wouldn't pressure him. Gunshots rang out on the boat, and Starfire found herself in her superhero uniform, courtesy of the energy being she'd hatched from an egg. Grayson was on the ship, and pursuing arms dealers. She was overjoyed that he was alive, and after he said please she helped him catch the dealers, who were jetting away in a boat. They had a trigger for a weapon that could level a city block, and Grayson didn't want it falling in the wrong hands. Starfire solved his problem by blasting it over his objections that his people wanted to study it. He promised he had not faked his death lightly, and had done it to protect his loved ones. Starfire was overcome by emotion and kissed him. The people expecting the trigger were watching Starfire and Grayson from a helicopter and called in a hit. Starfire's energy friend found them and crashed their ride, so the heroes got them medical attention. Grayson thought he should take to Starfire about their kiss, but she didn't understand what he meant when he said his life was complicated and he didn't want to lead her on. They had breakfast, and hitmen started following them. They easily defeated the goons, and Grayson got the name of their employees by kicking one of the men he shot. Starfire understood the necessity of what he was doing, but still disliked it. Grayson said he had to tie up the loose strings on the case, and they agreed to meet again under less chaotic circumstances. Starfire realized that with his mission to save the world he'd be in and out of her life, so she decided to stop looking at the past and embrace the moment. She invited Sol to her pool, told him not to worry about her ex, and kissed him. Her energy friend filled the pool with a brilliant light.

(Starfire II #9, 10) - The glowing orb revealed itself as Syl'Khee; Khees were native to Tamaran, and chose their owners. Starfire said he chose her and Sol both, but he'd have to take care of it while she was in Strata. The girls went to the Everglades to start their vacation by renting an air boat from Atlee's Stratan friend Billybob. Robbers showed up demanding the boat for themselves, and Stella was so angered at her vacation being interrupted that she beat them to a pulp. Billybob hinted for Atlee to be careful before they left the air boat to ride a protective bubble to Strata. They talked about how they were all heroes at heart, and Starfire said she might get fired from her job because she'd made up her mind to free Beth the dolphin. Atlee's family were waiting for her and shouted surprise. Starfire senses something wrong with Strata's light source before passing out. Atlee's former fiancée King Neala-Tok entered Strata, bent on conquering it. Starfire absorbed ambient light, and Strata overloaded her, but her body adjusted as Atlee and Gomez battled Neala-Tok. The recovered Starfire confronted the kind, telling him he'd be ruler of an empty kingdom if he continued his genocidal rampage, and he never thought past his own malevolence. She unleashed her full power, disintegrating Neala-Tok and his army. Starfire drifted into a coma, and Atlee's physician Aurla said it could take her 32 years to recover. Atlee's people had their rebirth ceremony, gathering friend and foe alike, and letting their essence float into the sun that powered Strata. Aurla's physician did not understand Tamaranian physiology, and Starfire was awake and ready to party.

(Starfire II #11) - The victory celebration honoring the girls as great heroes lasted for days. Starfire danced with subterranean architect Gink, while the small, fuzzy Choor asked Stella to come back to his place for some love. Atlee told her he was so insistent because his species only lived too days. Gomez drank too much, and had to be carried back to her room by Starfire, Atlee, and Choor. Starfire rubbed his head, causing him to reproduce by shooting out tiny furballs. Starfire wondered if she should help him raise them, but Atlee said they'd be full grown adults by the next day. The next day Atlee invited them into the emopool, a totally relaxing experience that let people get in touch with their true feelings. They had a lot of loving words to share, but Stella admitted she didn't want Starfire with her brother. He was still a wreck after losing Maria, and she thought being with Starfire meant it was inevitable that he'd get hurt physically and emotionally. She said it was easy for Starfire to deal with serial killers and extraterrestrial threats because she was a superhero, but Gomez and her family were mortal. Starfire appreciated the candor, and despite Stella's later objections, decided to move out of Sol's apartment and out of Key West. Time ran differently in Strata, so the few days they were gone translated to a week and a half on the surface. They arrived in time for Fantasy Fest, and Starfire decided to stick around for a bit longer.
