Powers: The Sorceress was a powerful magic user who guarded the power of Castle Grayskull.

History: (Masters of the Universe: Origin of He-Man #1 (fb)) - King Grayskull forged the Power Sword, which called on the power of Castle Grayskull, in order to repel Hordak's invasion of Eternia. Grayskull prophesized that one day two of his descendants would clash over the fate of Eternia, with one of them reclaiming the Power Sword. The Sorceress kept watch over Castle Grayskull for ages waiting for Grayskull's descendant to appear so she could instruct him in how to use the Power Sword and fulfill his fate.

(Masters of the Universe: Origin of He-Man #1) - Skeletor broke into his half-brother King Randor's palace in an attempt to seize the Power Sword and conquer Eternia. When Randor's son Prince Adam resisted him Skeletor blasted him with his Havoc Staff. The Sorceress of Grayskull reached out to Adam, bringing his consciousness to Castle Grayskull. The Sorceress told Adam she'd been watching over Grayskull until his arrival, and it was his destiny to claim the Power Sword and defeat Skeletor. Adam refused to believe he was the chosen one, but the Sorceress said that despite Adam's parents knowing of Lord Grayskull's prophecy they'd always kept it from him. The Sorceress told Adam he had no choice. She returned his consciousness to the castle, where he wrested control of the Power Sword, which transformed him into He-Man, and he and Skeletor engaged in a furious battle.
