Powers: Slig was amphibious, able to breathe undersea or on land, and was a strong swimmer. Slig's right hand could mutate sealife into gigantic and monstrous forms, and his left hand could disintegrate anything it touched.

History: (New Gods I #2, 4, 5) - Darkseid charged Slig and the Deep Six with bringing Apokoliptan fury to Earth. The Deep Six's murder of Seagrin put the New Genesis Gods on their trail. Slig confronted Orion, who'd found the Deep Six's watery lair, and introduced him to the Spawn that killed Seagrin. Orion was distracted long enough for Slig to paralyze him with his disintegrating hand and release Spawn into the sea. Orion escaped bondage, battling his way past Slig's sealife mutates. Orion's brutal fight with Slig brought out his bestial side, and Orion reverted to his true appearance, that of Darkjseid's son. Slig mocked him for being a monster, and he broke off the fight to be calmed by Mother Box, and then beat Slig to death, repaying the death of Seagrin.
