Powers: Like other members of his race, Retss could only breathe and thrive underwater. Retss' primary weapon was his power ring, which was virtually identical to the power rings used by the Green Lantern Corps, except that it only utilized the yellow range of the spectrum, tapping into the emotional energy of fear. Retss' power ring was capable of doing almost anything he could imagine. Examples of its’ powers include flight, phasing, creating giant objects formed of energy, and force fields.

History: (Green Lantern / Sinestro Corps: Secret Files #1) - Retss was an under-reptile that plagued the depths of dark water planets in the Rexulus System. He was chosen for the Sinestro Corps because of his ability to instill great fear.

(Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special #1) - Sinestro gathered Retss and the Sinestro Corps on Qward. Sinestro laid out their mission of using fear to make the chaos of the universe bend to their will, and to replace it with law and order. Their first step was to burn anyone that would oppose their plan, so they had to destroy the Green Lantern Corps. They brought Kyle Rayner to Qward and stripped him of the Ion entity. Sinestro made Kyle feel fear, and infected him with the Parallax entity, which he then presented to his guardian, the Anti-Monitor.

(Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Superman-Prime #1) – Setagg and the Sinestro Corps continued their war against Earth’s heroes and the GLC. Superboy-Prime joined the battle, but planned for the moment he could betray Sinestro for daring to work with the Anti-Monitor, the being that had destroyed his Earth during the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

(Green Lantern / Sinestro Corps: Secret Files #1) - After the Sinestro Corps invasion of Earth Retss reported back to his fellow under-reptiles that he had found a planet with vast waterways, a planet perfect for spawning.
