History: Scorcher was a member of Dark Nemesis, a supervillain group of mercenaries hired by the Veil to defeat the Teen Titans II. Dark Nemesis failed, and were sent to prison.

After a jailbreak Dark Nemesis leader Axis killed Scorcher and tried to frame Teen Titan Risk for the murder. This shook the public's faith in the Titans until the truth was revealed.
