History: (The Multiversity: Pax Americana #1) - President Harley, inspired by comic books, created the super team Pax Americana to bring peace to the world. In a government attempt to create a superhero, Captain Allen Adam was suited with the met material Dilustel, and exposed to the unstable element U-235. The scientists in charge of the experiment also secretly placed an artificial black hole in Adam’s head, at the orders of Sarge Steel‘s superiors. Adam, as Captain Atom, gained godlike powers, and word came down that he had to be destroyed as too dangerous. In 2014 he fled the universe when he learned that his own government was after him. Sarge Steel was assigned to punish the scientists responsible for his creation. He told them they unleashed Hell on Earth, and he was what crawled out to kill them, before brutally mowing them down. In 2015 President Harley was shot dead by Peacemaker. Harley had planned his own sacrifice, and was working on a scheme of redemption that relied on Captain Atom being able to restore him from the dead. Vice-president Eden took control of America, and declared the superhero dead. Peacemaker was brought to the interrogation room, and given a savage beating by Sarge Steel, refusing to explain his action.
