Powers: Sarge was a trained soldier, a skilled unarmed combatant, and armed with standard U.S. Marine firepower.

History: Two friends grew up in the slums together and later enlisted in the Marines together during WWII. They worked under the names Gunner and Sarge, performing heroics in the Pacific theatre. they were later reassigned to Europe, where they were to train new recruits. Gunner and Sarge's recruits were all killed on their first patrol, and they were filled with regret and began to think of themselves as losers. They joined a detached military unity of similar hard-luck cases called the Losers. Sarge and the rest of the Losers died during the final days of WWII.
